How do I get the original Windows games on my computer? In a fit of self-discipline, I removed all the original games for Windows from my computer - including my favorite, Spider Solitaire. Now I have more free time and want to recover (especially Spider Solitaire), but I can not understand how. I found other Spider Solitaire games online, but they are not the same as and not as good as the original version of Windows. Advice?
If you have misplaced, lost or never had your OEM Windows install disk, you're out of luck, unless you can install from CSB. However, if you want to get your game back from the original source, follow these steps:
Windows XP:
[Start Open] Settings, Control Panel, Add / Remove Programs. Select Add / Remove Windows Components from the dialog box that appears, select Accessories and Utilities, and then press the button for more details ... Select Games. Press the button for more details ... to see the games that you can install Check the boxes for everything you want. The checkboxes are selectors that will add a missing element or remove a component. Windows Vista
Open Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features Windows Select Enable or disable the Select Games. Expand the list using [+ box] Select the games you want.
Try this.
Start> Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features. On your left, select and click on Enable or disable Windows features. Now check the box next to games is checked. If not select it, press Apply and OK. Now restart your computer.
If you go to Add / Remove Programs in your control panel, there is a button on the left that says Windows Components, click there and you can follow the instructions to add anything you've deleted. You may be prompted to put your Windows CD in.
In Vista: Start> Control Panel> Programs> Programs and Features> Turn Windows features on or off> check the box Games.
In XP: Start> Control Panel> Add / Remove programs> Windows Components> Select the option Games
