Regarding the extras are concerned, there is a training option that lets you play a series of little word games to get your brain churning. I found these to be fun for about five minutes, and then I was ready to move forward.

In addition to the classic rules, you can also play Slam or the rules of speed Scrabble. Slam is completely different from the basic game in that you have a series of letters and you see a word at the top of the screen.

You can replace a letter of the word with one of your tiles at once, so if you have an "E" you can then change the "Stop" to "stage". This is not turn based, so the faster you can use your tiles, the better.

The Speed option uses the classic rules, except there is a timer. After the timer drains, you lose points during your turn until you play something. Unless you like running against the clock or your friend takes forever to do, this mode will probably not do anything for you.

The portable video game version of Scrabble does not really offer a whole lot you can not just go board game, except that the possibility of playing on the road is a pleasant thing that you do not need to facing wooden tiles.

The solo part is very poor thanks to the shadow of Amnesty International, although it is always good practice. Multiplayer can be fun though, and it's really the whole point anyway.
