PS3 - Well cool!

After buying a 40 "Sony Bravia we were looking to buy a BlueRay player - the price difference between a good BD player and PS3 Slim has not been very different if I chose the PS3 consoles. My only other foray for game consoles NA-Box has been there X number of years (which I used mainly for playing DVDs! The PS3 has surprised me in many ways ...

1) It is set up was easy via cable HDMIDI.

2) It automatically took our WIFI (I thought it should be an extra purchase). So now I can surf style on the net "big screen!)

3) No extras are required to watch DVDs (I bought a DVD remote for £ 14, my parents found it easier to use than the controller)

4) BBC iPlayer (and five to the application) into its own - the broadcast quality and resolution full screen are quite incredible. (Of those I tried, the only one I can not play the ITV one)

5) The resolution on the PS3 Consoles Games pin is high, the Dual Shock controller takes a little practice until you realize that it moves with you! - I recommend the wireless microphone if you want to use Sing Star

I have barley touched the surface of this product yet, but if you are looking for a media player that covers blueray, wireless and games I really recommend this to you!

PS3 - Impressed

I decided I wanted a PS3 Consoles second to go in my office, so I can play my games when I feel like, rather than sit there sulking when I was started on large LCD TV in the living room when she-who-must-be-obeyed can watch the latest episode of some stick insect parade garbage bags on a bridge!

I still have the original model launch (60 GB with additional features) and always liked the glossy black finish, feel well built and quiet and hushed tones of the fan, even when it is full. It is a very solid and impressive kit.

So I was a little afraid that the new machine would be a plastic case sensitive, like my Xbox 360. Fortunately, this is not the case at all. It is as strong as the original machine, and the effect matte black is much better in the flesh than in pictures that you see. It is not hard at all, and it feels well built. It is in harmony with other home theater gear is black and much smaller than the original - flatter, less in height (if both coated), but no less profound.

Addressing an issue that I noticed in many of these criticisms, regarding the fan noise. Mine just does not make annoying noises. It is quieter than the PS3 original. He is not silent as some have said - no fan in an enclosed space would be, but it is not so much noise - I'd say by at least a half, over the original unit. The fan starts a little earlier when the machine is idle, compared to the original, but again, this should be expected because there is less space in the machine now. It certainly can be heard on all the games. If your machine is doing, it is defective and must be returned.

Overall, this is the kind of high quality kit Sony, which seems very intelligent and it is more accepted in the living room than the outgoing model because of the smaller size.

PS3 - Do.
