The game actually started after you have been invited to participate in the Grand Prix Amedrique's Gourmet. In this competition, you'll be taken to the test as you try to prove yourself against the many famous recipes in various parts of select USA, you must clear all the challenges and try not to be eliminated, so that you can get closer to the elusive Grand Prix gold medal to prove to others that you are worthy of being the supreme head of the country.

Stories aside, Hot Dish 2: Cross Country Cook Off actually plays like the original game where you try to prepare different dishes as soon as possible. In each level you have a number of quotas that you must reach out. This quota, following all the food preparations as accurately as possible and planning of all your movements so that the ingredients will not be left unattended for very long. Ultimately, multitasking is really inevitable, but I guess that's what this game is intended to anyway.

Apart from the stars, you can also earn prestige points by completing the judges and launch combos during the game management of real time. Luxury items will earn you gadgets and power-ups whenever they reach a certain level, these tools can be used to upgrade your kitchen or even make you use strategies which already plays against the clock.
