Games with Collectors Editions A majority of people today consider themselves collectors of one thing or another, and almost everything can be collected. Board games are absolutely no exception and may actually be one of the most exciting things that collectors can continue. When a collector decides to pursue a collection of games, they usually face an interesting challenge. Many games have been around for 50 years or more, with revised editions have been published infrequently. Not only is this a challenge to track each edition released, but most games released a special edition anniversary collection, whether in 10 years, 25 years or 50 years on the market. Often more than one edition anniversary will also published, presenting an obstacle to the collection. Such special Collector's Editions, almost always in limited release, may be one of the difficult parts of a collection of track, but ultimately the most satisfying.
Monopoly is one of the games most beloved, has a number of special Collector's editions available, some of them available to the public and some of them not. Some editions of the most popular collection is presented in the form of the theme of the party. Fans can purchase the editions of Betty Boop, The Simpsons, and Coca Cola, games that are themed after a different region than Atlantic City, like New York, New England, or national parks. Special Editions are not limited solely to different themes, however. Monopoly has published a reprint of the 1935 edition of the original game and the anniversary edition, all the way until their last anniversary of 70 years. These editions usually come in a tin case game, with playing cards in special relief and tokens.
There were some very exquisite Monopoly editions available, however, have energized the fans. In 1978, Neiman Marcus has released an edition of Monopoly through their Christmas Wish book was done entirely in chocolate. Each piece of this set is edible, the pawns and dice, cards and hotels, and even the edge! This deluxe set has been sold at retail of $ 600 and was much appreciated by fans of Monopoly. In addition, in 2000, the famous toy store FAO Schwartz published one-of-a-Kind-monopoly for $ 100,000, which could be found with 18 Karat gold, emeralds, rubies, sapphires and integrated A la carte, and real U.S. currency in place of play money.
Clue is another game that featured several special editions Collector, some very high places. The Franklin Mint has produced a version of the game on a board of directors fully three-dimensional game which has gold-plated coins and cards and a complete overhaul of the respective maps. A more affordable version was produced for the 50th anniversary edition, with the game play in a case of tin, but with chips specially designed suspect, weapons, and map design. This, plus a new version being produced in every 10 years, gives the collector a wide base Clue to cover in their quest. The collection of these, or any other game, can be a fun challenge. However, it may take some time for a serious collector to find all the pieces, which means they must have a love dedicated to the game to reach their goal!
