Announcing Landry The Game! Landri The Game
Overview
This is a brief article I wrote about the gameplay and mechanics of the board game called new forthcoming Landry is a story / fiction game based in a historic colonial era without a script laid out in one year given battle or war to be played. The outcome of the game unfolds as you play and is different every time. The theme of the play about the discovery of new islands. The governments of the ancient world rush to claim as much land as possible. You're the governor sent to your country with a task set forth by your king to claim as much territory as possible and to establish colonies on these newly found lands.
At the beginning of the game, each player starts with an island that he / she controls. The island's main settlement player and small towns with the settlers living in these areas. Settlers gold provide through taxes to the governor (you), which can be used for the purchase of a soldier on the continent. The task of each player is to capture and colonize as much territory as possible and defend this territory before other players qualify. Defend your territory captured does not have to be through military action, but that can be done through peaceful diplomacy and perhaps a compromise.
When the game ends each island is claimed and colonized are added to the points of victory and the player with the most points wins the game. Having the most points victory at the end of the game is not the only way to win well. There are three ways a player can win the game. The first is to have the most victory points at the end of the game that can only happen if all the actors involved in the game to declare a state of peace with each other, and want to end party. The second way is to completely annihilate your opponents through military conquest. The third and final to win the game is to assassinate the governors clothed. If this route is chosen the victory and the game does not end when you have players neutral basis in the game until everyone declares a state of peace and victory points are added to each player to determine the winner. Victory points are not the only reason a player does want to capture some of the islands. When the players claim the islands and establish new colonies and settlements on them, the settlers who live on these islands produce gold resources. Most of the island more gold is produced which means a stronger military and better protect your territory. large islands also produce victory points more then the smaller and more players will be eager to capture them so it is better to settle early in the game.
War is not the only way to seize and colonize new territories. At the beginning of the game's diplomatic position of each player starts out as neutral with the rest of the other players. The relationship between the players are constantly changing throughout the course of the game. Good or bad relationships must be established during playback. Diplomacy can be a key factor to win the game. Establish good relationships can win you allies, which in turn can help defend your territory or defeat your enemies. Building relationships of poor quality can be potentially harmful, if the diplomatic negotiations are still an important part of the game if you want to play a less aggressive strategy and avoid unnecessary confrontation.
Players can trade in the game to win gold. Trading can be very profitable for players and good relations are an important factor in the establishment of trade agreements. Piracy can also be a problem, because other players can high-jack your merchant vessels as they travel along the trade routes to your colony. This would be an act of war, of course, the war, however, is always an option for the player and is not unintentional at all times.
The game is very balanced and each player has about the SA.
