Battlestar Galactica Rpg

Posted on April 10, 2010.
Battlestar Galactica RpgAre there any other D & D type games involving space travel?

I am looking for an RPG d20 which use space and possibley Travel Time travel, maybe a Doctor Who type thing, but not Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica or any of these kinds of games. Thank you.

Jeez, do not GURPS! Unless you really like a lot of complicated calculations and tons of rules that are not very fun.

Two systems that are generic, but can handle this kind of space are well Savage Worlds (Explorer edition is only $ 10 and has a nice set of bases, but that could leave you needing to find stats on your own ship ) and large eyes Small Mouth 2nd Edition (print, unfortunately, but definitely worth tracking down).

Wait, oops, just saw the requirement of "D20". Why you chain down to D20? Seriously, there are many other major systems on the market. Many of them would be just as easy to learn as a variant D20. (GURPS, for the record, neither D20 nor easy to learn).

Good luck!

d20 because I like that I play D & D for 15 years I'm not changing now. It seems that Yahoo considers my questions "resolved" when it is clearly not. Stupid Yahoo. Report Abuse

GURPS Space by Steve Jackson Games.

I support the motion. GURPS is an experience much more open role, playing phenomenal. It is usable in any era of play (you can do the fancy, modern cavemen, after the nuclear Apocalypse, what you may think) and all allows more freedom. Even in fantasy games, for me, beats the stuffing GURPS for D & D every time.

Details:

Hehe, like the gentleman below me, the rules of the game are not that complicated or mathematical. A little involved, but the resources required are minimal, and once you understand it, it's easy. D & D is for nerds who live in the basement of their parents. GURPS is for smart nerds who have a chance to do something for themselves: P

Although no longer in print (and therefore it can be easy to find cheap), the game was an RPG Alternity play area.
